Solar Swimming Pool Heaters

Solar swimming pool heating makes Makes good economic sense and helps the environment. As far as I’m concerned, anyone who heat a swimming pool would be foolish not to look into solar pool heaters.

Since most people closer pools for the winter solar pool heating systems don’t need to be designed to operate in freezing weather. This makes them simpler and less expensive to construct. Depending on where you live, the payback time can be less than a year, meaning that the money you’ll save compared to using gas or electricity to heat your pool will pay for the solar heater within a year.

The concept behind a solar swimming pool heater is simple: circulate the pool water through a long hose exposed to the sun and the sun will warm it.

All swimming pools already have a circulating water pump and the filter to keep the water moving and cleaning. Heated swimming pools have a heater installed as part of the circuit. With the solar system that heater is the sun rather than gas or electricity.

Since the pumps and filters are required anyway there is little additional cost to using a solar system. In fact the solar panels are often cheaper than a gas or electric pool heater.

The principle of most solar pool heaters is simple. You’ve seen it demonstrated if you’ve left the garden hose full of water laying on the lawn on a sunny day. When you next turn on the hose, warm water will come out. That water was heated by the sun.

A do-it-yourselfer could make a workable solar pool heater simply by coiling a long length of black plastic piping, placing it in a sunny spot and connecting it to the pool system. if you enjoy do-it-yourself projects, you could do it that way. Most pool owners use a commercially produced package.

Most people opt for ready-made systems because they tend to look neater and don’t cost that much more than just buying the materials to make one yourself.

Using a solar swimming pool heating system is a win-win situation. you be able to enjoy your pool even more while saving money and helping the environment. You can keep your pool along with a clear conscience.
